Transruinaulta Trail Marathon
Show all 9 images
The impressive Rhine Gorge with enjoyable trails shapes the running experience. Two valleys, both shaped by the Rhine, the Vorderrhein and the Hinterrhein, form the backdrop for this Graubünden trail marathon Transruinaulta and Transviamala. The Transruinaulta is a good and eventful introduction to the world of trail running. A large event takes place annually over two days.
Details
Description
The Transruinaulta is 42 kilometers long and leads from Ilanz to Thusis. From Ilanz, the first town on the Rhine, trail runners start practically directly on a beautiful singletrail along the young Vorderrhein. Through an exclusive start situation, the nature experience is further promoted by individual and paired starts. After the first approximately 11 kilometers amid the Rhine Gorge come steep ascents up to Versam, through the Versamer Tobel to Scardanal and further to Rhäzüns. The marathon then turns towards Heinzenberg, follows the Hinterrhein up to the height of Präz. The view towards the destination Thusis and over the entire Domleschg compensates for the tough ascent behind. From the summit of the marathon, it goes slowly downhill on singletrails along Heinzenberg before some short climbs await shortly before the goal.
