E-Bike Trophy - finish Restaurant Eggwald

Starting from the spa town of Bad Ragaz, this route leads through the quiet yet spectacular Tamina Valley past Vättis in the direction of Kunkelspass. After a short drive you pass the spectacular Tamina Bridge. Later, the path leads past the milky blue reservoir Mapragg, past lovely pastures and through the tranquil village of Vättis. From then on, a quiet road leads along the Görbsbach in the direction of the Kunkelspass. Here you cross the cantonal border from St. Gallen to Graubünden and imagine yourself in the middle of the larches and flower-rich meadows in an Engadine side valley.

The exit to the Berggasthaus Eggwald is best started at Bad Ragaz station. If you want to rent an e-bike, you can do so at the e-bike station Bad Ragaz, right at the entrance to the Tamina Therme. After a short drive through the health resort you reach the Valenserstrasse, which winds uphill. No more cars are to be expected on this road, because since the construction of the Tamina Bridge, this road has been reserved for bikers, hikers and forestry workers. After a slightly stricter climb, you now have an excellent view of the Tamina Bridge. It is recommended not to cross the bridge, as the roads on this side of the valley are quieter. Follow the road past the villages of Valens and Vasön. After Vasön, the road leads down to the Mapragg reservoir. But before you reach the dam wall, turn right of the main road in the first sharp bend. From here, a simple gravel road leads along the reservoir, away from traffic. At the end of the lake we cross the Tamina over the hiking bridge. On the other side of the river, the path leads along the road towards Vättis. Even before the village you change again to quiet side roads, which lead to the village. In the village you follow the signs "Kunkelspass" and leave the village after the bridge on the left side. From here you follow the quiet road with the super pleasant slope past beautiful flower meadows, the wild Görbsbach and idyllic huts to the mountain inn Eggwald. Of course, always under the protection of the impressive Calanda massif.
