Description

The glacier educational trail Silvretta, opened in 2007, offers impressive experiences for young and old.

The trail starts directly at the Silvretta hut and offers visitors exciting insights into the formation of glaciers, alpinism, and the flora and fauna in this area. In addition, the visitors are impressively informed about the impacts of climate warming.

The circular hike, which is accompanied by 15 information boards, takes a total of 1 ½ hours and is also suitable for children or school classes.

At the Silvretta hut, you will find on the hut trail the way back to Alp Sardasca. From here, you can take the Alpine taxi back to Klosters Monbiel.

Hidden Gem

The Silvretta hut is a wonderfully located place to stop. At the start and end point of the hike, you will also find the syrup bar at Alp Sardasca.

Safety Note

Both the ascent and descent as well as the glacier educational trail involve mountain paths. Adjust your equipment to the weather conditions and always carry some additional provisions, water, and clothing with you.

Equipment

Sturdy hiking shoes, rain jacket, etc. are highly recommended.

Directions

The hike begins at the Alp Sardasca (on foot from Klosters Monbiel or by reservation with the shuttle from Gotschna Taxi). The Silvretta hut can then be reached in 2 hours. This is on the one hand the starting point for the glacier educational trail, on the other hand you can stay overnight in the cozy hut of the SAC. Well rested and enriched by an experience, you can set off early in the morning on the glacier educational trail.
