Details

Description

The special location offers wonderful insights into the most diverse Graubünden regions. With its mighty scree flanks, the Bärenhorn forms the highest point of the long ridge that begins almost five kilometres further out of the valley with Vals' local mountain, the "Höreli". On the way you will discover the mysterious nature of the secluded high valley "Chli Tomül" and possibly share the summit experience with the numerous chamois who like to stay there.

Geheimtipp

For enduring hikers, an ascent of the Teischer (2688m) with spectacular views of the Peiltal valley is also recommended on the way.

Sicherheitshinweis

Requirements: For good mountain hikers technically easy tour (T3), which requires caution in wet, cold and snow in the summit area.

On this hike they have to reckon with suckler cows.

Directions

By hiking bus from Vals up to the parking lot Riefawald (1820 m). Directly behind it begins the small access path to the official hiking route, which leads after a short steep section in 30 minutes to the idyllic clearing Pradätsch (1951 m) with a view of Lake Zervreila.

Following the now flatter path, the gorge of the Tomülbach soon opens up and offers a view of the impressive plateau of the Riedboda, crossed by meandering rivers. After the steep ascent up towards Alp Tomül (2181 m, 1 h 15 min. from Pradatsch) turn right before crossing the bridge and in 45 minutes climb over trail tracks and past rushing waterfalls to P. 2451.

With the summit in sight, following the course of the river, the Bärenlücke (2530 m) is reached via simple terrain with a wonderful view over the rear Safien Valley (45 min.). Ascent to the summit in 45 minutes via a well-developed path on the northeast ridge.
