Description
A path from the Murtèl middle station leads to Fuorcla Surlej in about 45 minutes. The path is initially quite wide and only gently rises. Depending on the amount of snow, it may still be necessary to cross a snowfield even in July. The last ascent has some steep switchbacks. But the effort is worth it: At the top near the Fuorcla (Romansh for mountain pass) you have a beautiful view into Val Roseg, to the mighty Piz Bernina with its distinctive Biancograt, Piz Roseg, and the glacier world. The mountain panorama is reflected in the small mountain lake. From the sunny terrace of the Fuorcla Surlej mountain hut, you can comfortably enjoy the mountain world. The same path leads back to the Murtèl middle station from where the cable car goes to the Surlej valley station.
