Kapelle St. Niklaus, Reits
The chapel was consecrated in 1716 and stands in the western part of Surrein. It faces east and has a choir closed on three sides. The chapel was extensively and beautifully restored in 2011.
Description
The nave of the chapel is equipped with a wooden barrel. The chancel is vaulted and beautifully painted. The church has a roof turret with two bells and is 9.3 meters long and 4 meters wide. The altarpiece shows the Mother of God with Child and the two Saints St. Nicholas (left) and Carlo Borromeo (right). In the middle of the choir ceiling there is a picture of the Assumption of Mary and in the choir arch the Annunciation is depicted.
