From mid-May to mid-June, the meadows above Seewis are a shimmering white, not because of late snowfall, but because thousands of white daffodils are in bloom. A specially signposted circular trail from the mountain village takes you to the most beautiful daffodil fields. Tip: Plan a detour to the Alpine tavern of Valcaus and from there whizz back to Seewis on a scooter.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, many people from Graubünden emigrated as confectioners. Some gained great wealth and, back in their home villages, built stately homes and palaces. The Nova Fundaziun Origen foundation was wondering what a returning confectioner would build today. Its answer: the Tor alva, the White Tower. At a height of 30 metres, it is the tallest digitally printed building in the world. From 23 May 2025, the tower can be visited on two daily tours.

In spring, while snow still lies on the mountain peaks but the meadows in the valley are already a lush green, the ibex come from Piz Albris to Pontresina to graze. On the ‘Ibex Promenade’ – a few minutes from the village – you can observe and photograph them up close.

The Rhine Gorge between Ilanz and Reichenau is often compared to the Grand Canyon, and with good reason. With its sandstone cliffs reaching heights of up to 350 metres, it is one of the most spectacular landscapes Graubünden has to offer. You can explore the area by foot on hiking trails or aboard the open-top train of the Rhaetian Railway. There are two shuttle bus lines that will take you to Versam and Trin Station from Flims and Laax. If you’re coming from Chur, we recommend arriving with the Rhaetian Railway.

More and more facades in the Graubünden capital are featuring bright colours instead of grey. Thanks to legal graffiti spaces, the Street Art Festival and the internationally renowned artist Bane, Chur is becoming the Swiss Mecca for street art. You can discover the outdoor artworks on a stroll through the alleys or on the guided city tour entitled ‘Spray Can Meets City Wall’.

You will find them on almost every list of mountain lakes: Lake Cauma and Lake Cresta. And for good reason: The water of both lakes is turquoise and clear, while their location in the dense Flims Forest is like something out of a fairytale. As the lakes are no longer insider tips, they are very popular on warm summer days. But on a beautiful spring day, you can still enjoy them all to yourself.

The Älplibahn Malans mountain railway takes guests up to the magnificent hiking region of the Malanser Älpli at 1,801 metres above sea level. Once you reach the top, you’re spoilt for choice: There are leisurely walks, easy hikes, alpine crossings and also places to stop for refreshments and enjoy breathtaking lookout points. Seat reservation is required on the railway.

The Viamala Gorge was carved into the rocks by glacial ice and the water of the Posterior Rhine thousands of years ago. 359 steps lead down to the impressive monument with rock walls up to 300 metres high.

On the Brambrüesch mountain, mountain bikers can let off steam in the Alpenbikepark on five varied freeride trails with three levels of difficulty. The trails are dotted with numerous thrilling obstacles. Two cable cars take mountain bikers directly from the city to 1,000 metres above sea level.
