The biosphere reserve has a long history. It was awarded the UNESCO label back in 1979, but at that time it was limited to the area of the Swiss National Park, which is now the core zone.

Events in the Parcs
Visitors to events in the parcs buy a single ticket for the journey, stamp it with the organizer and the ticket is valid for the free return journey.
In the Engadin Scuol Samnaun Val Müstair vacation region, which includes the Swiss National Parc, the Biosfera Val Müstair Nature Parc and the UNESCO Biosfera Engiadina Val Müstair, public transport is free from the 1st overnight stay.
With four regional nature parcs, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, a UNESCO biosphere reserve and the Swiss National Parc, Graubünden has the highest density of parcs in Switzerland.
