Castaneda is the municipality of Calanca Esterna. It has always been called the "Garden of the Calanca" and owes its name to the chestnut groves that line its gentle slopes.

The reading bench is located at the idyllic bathing lake Davos Munts. On nice and warm days there is a lively hustle and bustle of bathers. Over the winter, the book boxes are emptied.
