Thanks to its central location, Vella offers ideal access to the extensive Obersaxen Mundaun winter sports area. From the Vella valley station, you can take the 4-seater chairlift (C1) from 1244 m above sea level to Triel at 1600 m above sea level.

Two mines were once operated in the municipality of Obersaxen Mundaun. The silver mines of Affeier and the ironworks in the Platenga-Tobel, whose 240 m long tunnel system is now open to tourists. Surselva Tourism Info Obersaxen organises guided tours to the show mine during the summer.
