Quinten is located on a promontory on Lake Walen, surrounded by the Churfirsten mountains. The car-free village is accessible only on foot or by boat and offers a mild climate where even figs and kiwis thrive.

In order to match this spectacular nature, the official white-red-and-white trail markers have been newly painted by an artist, called Stefan Rüesch.

Almost a kilometre long and already a full-blown cross-country ski trail. Surrounded by a fairytale forest, the varied trail winds its way through the Tuf recreation area. The area is located at 1320 m above sea level and is very snowy thanks to its sheltered location.
