The fireplace on the Mittenberg was created by the city of Chur as a resting place. It is dedicated to the Chur mountain biker Nino Schurter; a memorial stone on the square commemorates the career of the Olympic champion, ten-time world champion and multiple overall World Cup winner.

In the small mountain community of Pigniu/Panix in the Grisons Vorderrheintal, a dam wall was built in 1989 at the back of the large basin. Since September 1999, the sober wall has shown the hiker from a completely different side.
