The Bergkirchli is the oldest church in the Grisons holiday resort of Arosa and also its oldest surviving building. It is located in Innerarosa on the path between the Schanfigger Museum of Local History and the Tschuggen, directly at the valley station of the Carmenna chairlift at 1900 m above sea level.

From his hut on Alp Tussagn, Segantini climbs even higher up to Lai Tigiel in a 2 1/2-hour walk. There he worked on the paintings «Alpenweiden», «Die Strafe der Wollüstigen» and «Die bösen Mütter».
