In time for the 111th anniversary of the Langwies Viaduct, a new museum was opened in the village of Langwies. With the viaduct – the largest and longest spanning reinforced concrete railway bridge in the world at the time of its construction – Langwies has an architecturally significant landmark of international importance. Instead of a single museum building, the Viaduct Museum repurposes several historically significant rooms near the station. This creates a multifaceted museum with different stations that illuminate the history of the Langwies Viaduct from various perspectives, making it accessible and engaging for locals and guests alike.
