Description

The start and finish of the circular route is the parking/viewpoint Islabord between Versam village and Versam-Safien train station. The view of the Rhine Gorge from the Islabord platform is breathtaking and always worth it. Right from the start, the route leads variedly through forests and meadows through Versam and up to the Maiensässen at Calörtsch. On natural roads, you reach the highest point of the tour at Brünner Alp without much effort. Here, too, a particularly exciting panorama is offered, looking out over the Flims Plateau, which impressively shows the traces of the great rockslide from about 10,000 years ago. The descent to the idyllic village of Brün is fast over natural roads. From here, the route continues on secondary roads down to the main road. A very short section remains on it before continuing on forest roads back to the starting point.

Hidden Gem

A visit to the Islabord viewing platform is definitely worthwhile to enjoy the impressive Rhine Gorge.

On the descent from Imschlacht to Carrera there are various trail options. Pay attention to the hiking trail signage. The trail difficulties range between S1 and upper S2 levels.

If you pass through the Carrera campsite, please ride at walking speed over the site out of consideration for the campers. Thank you!

Safety Note

In uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are common. If a rain front or similar approaches during the route, you should turn back in time.

Respect other trail users - trail tolerance!
