The Fanellhorn allows views down into part of the Vals Valley, which remains hidden to most visitors. In the south-east of the mountain there are large mountain lakes and the second largest glacier in the Vals Valley with the Fanell glacier. The snow-covered mountains of the Adula massif and the rugged rocky peaks in the Rheinwald and Misox seem close enough to touch from the summit.

To Fanellgrätli also from Peiltal or directly from Vals (mountain trail marked). On the route from Vals to Peil Vals: vals hiking bus: Information and registration: Tel 081 935 16 49

Requirements: A technically easy tour (T4) for good alpine hikers, however when wet, cold, or in case of snow or fog, caution is advised especially near the peak.
