Description

A short but beautiful hike along the Fuornbach, which flows wildly and untamed through its self-carved canyon. Thanks to this connecting route, various hikes in the region can be linked without having to walk on the road. In addition to the beautiful brook, the view of the impressive pyramid of the Piz dal Fuorn is also enticing.

Note: Bringing dogs is not allowed in the Swiss National Park, not even on a leash. Further information and all protection regulations can be found at nationalpark.ch/schutzbestimmungen.

Directions

The hiking route leads from the customs house Punt la Drossa and the eponymous PostBus stop (1711 m a.s.l.) past parking lot 5 to the Hotel Parc Naziunal Il Fuorn. This section is mostly used by hikers who have walked from Il Fuorn to the Alp la Schera and return via Punt la Drossa (see route "Alp la Schera"). The path thus offers a good option to get back to the starting point without having to walk on the road. Although the path always runs near the mountain pass road, the rushing of the Fuornbach usually drowns out the traffic noise. From Punt la Drossa, the route always follows the Ova dal Fuorn, offering a beautiful view of the stately pyramid of Piz dal Fuorn. Passing the confluence of the Ova da Val Ftur, the path continues to the PostBus stop Il Fuorn (P6) (1794 m a.s.l.), where the sun terrace of the Hotel Parc Naziunal Il Fuorn invites you to linger.

  • By the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Prättigau, Upper and Lower Engadin) hourly (partly half-hourly) to Zernez
  • From Zernez by PostBus towards Müstair-Mals hourly to Punt la Drossa (P4)

  • From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina Tunnel (Selfranga – Sagliains) or via the Flüela Pass to the Lower Engadin on H27
  • From the east: via Landeck / Austria towards St. Moritz on H27
  • From the south: via Reschen Pass (Nauders – Martina) to the Lower Engadin on H27
  • From Zernez on the Ofen Pass road towards Val Müstair to parking lot 4
  • From Val Müstair via the Ofen Pass towards Zernez to parking lot 4
