Past spruce forests and the high plateau Plaun da Plaids.
Details
Description
On this very varied hike around the Grep da Plaids, the walls of light Rauhwacke rock and the bizarre rock towers impress, as well as the vegetation on carbonate-rich rock, which is unusual for the upper Surselva, especially the rare mountain pine stands. Ruins of lime kilns bear witness to the former lime kiln.
First it goes through open forests, mountain pastures and avalanches, past several fireplaces and the beautiful flat moor in Plaun da Plaids. Very rewarding is the short climb to the viewpoint «Grep da Plaids». The path branches off about 130 m east of the fireplace, is not marked and only faintly visible. The small high plateau exudes the touch of a Nordic heath landscape.
The hike continues immediately west of the rest area. After a descent, past Rauhwacke formations with mountain pines and through high-montane spruce forests on carbonate-rich rock, take the inconspicuous marked path up directly above the new melioration road and cross a wooded wetland on wooden footbridges near Arblatsch. Through the Cuolms da Runs it goes on a dirt road back to Brigels.
