Description

From Sedrun we hike on an asphalted, little trafficked road towards Cavorgia. We briefly visit the Chapel Sogn Leci, which dates from the 17th century and is beautifully located. Up to the Stagias height, we first walk a bit on asphalt, then on a natural road, which steadily ascends through the forest in large hairpin bends. About 25 years ago, the storm "Vivian" left only a few firs standing in the Uaul Cavorgia, now a completely new mixed forest with firs, larches, birches and rowan trees is growing here. In Stagias we find a well-equipped fire pit next to a pond. We also take a look at the "Academia Vivian", a modern wooden building that can be booked for schools and/or family events. It is located only 100 meters east in a birch forest.

It continues gently down to Mutschnengia, where we make a detour to the extraordinary suspension bridge. It was built in 2011 by forestry apprentices from 17 cubic meters of Grisons larch wood and spans the Val Mutschnengia with a length of 96 meters. In the panoramic restaurant of Hotel Cuntera, we enjoy coffee and cake before we cover the last stretch of the path to Curaglia. Here we take the post bus back to Disentis and then the train to Sedrun.
