Description

You start rolling in Chur (593  m above sea level) and follow the Rhine along the bike path to Reichenau, where the Vorderrhein and Hinterrhein merge. On side roads, you continue along bike route no. 3 to Bonaduz. Here, you reach the spectacular road through the Ruinaulta. The Rhine Gorge, with its 300-meter-high rock walls and rock formations also called the "Little Swiss Canyon," hosts a fantastic panoramic road. Take a short break to enjoy one of the most diverse landscapes of the Alps. Over the bridge at the end of the first short descent, you reach a short climb with beautiful hairpin bends leading to Versam (909 m above sea level). Just at the village entrance, turn towards the Safiental and follow MTB route no. 157 "Calörtsch." Via Arezen, you reach natural roads through forests and meadows to the alpine pastures at Calörtsch (1401 m above sea level). Here, you can enjoy a particularly impressive panoramic view of the Flimserstein. Following the MTB route, you reach a short forest path through the Calörtscherwald (1580 m above sea level) again onto a road that takes you to the idyllic village of Brün. On the fast descent from Brün to the main road (910 m above sea level), you return to bike route 3, which you follow towards Valendas. Valendas not only delights with countless well-preserved manor houses but also with the largest wooden fountain in Europe. From here, continue following the bike route to Ilanz (699 m above sea level), the first city on the Rhine.
