Dorfbild Disentis
At the heart of this stage is Disentis with its Benedictine monastery. The legend about the chapel near Disla is also interesting. The riverside path along the Young Rhine leads to Sumvitg. We recommend taking a detour up to Bostg at the start.

Description

Along the railway line we hike from Sedrun on comfortable and wide hiking trails to Disentis. On the way, we admire the impressive viaduct of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway in Bugnei or the typical Valser houses in Segnas. The center of the stage is Disentis with its Benedictine monastery. The church and the museum are open daily.

We continue to the hamlet Disla, a small crafts village. The chapel is striking and unique because of its octagonal shape and is counted among the most beautiful Baroque buildings in Switzerland. On the riverside path along the young Rhine, we hike sometimes over meadows and pastures or through shady forests until we reach Sumvitg.
