Versamer Rundtour am Rande der Rheinschlucht

The start is in Versam on the edge of the Rhine Gorge, which is lined with rugged rock faces up to 350 meters high. The beginning begins with a short ascent on the outskirts of Versam, before a short time later it goes a good 100 meters in altitude to the Islabord viewing platform. A short look down into the Rhine Gorge is almost obligatory before you walk almost 400 meters along the side road and slightly uphill. Now the forest path leads you into the Lengwald - an original heather pine forest, which is also a habitat for capercaillie. This forest is unique in the Surselva in terms of flora and fauna. At the so-called Bergli, you come to the main road for about 200 meters and then turn back into the forest. Below Versam, the route goes up again briefly to get back to Versam through the larch forest.

This trail can often be done as early as spring. Most of the time it is mild and snow-free here early in the year. Between 20.12. and 30.6. there is an absolute ban on paths due to the wildlife rest zone. However, we also recommend moving along the recommended route during the rest of the time. Nature says thank you.
