The Alpinum on the Schatzalp covers 5 hectares and is home to around 3500 plant species from all over the world.

Description

The botanical garden Alpinum Schatzalp is supported by the Berghotel Schatzalp. The Alpinum is situated at an average altitude of over 1800 meters and covers a total area of around 5 hectares. Numerous different habitats merge into one another and form a wide variety of locations for plant collections such as edelweiss, gentian, bluebells and much more.

Furthermore, the Alpinum takes the 3 main tasks of a botanical garden very much to heart: species conservation and collection, teaching the population and local recreation.

To this end, a small team cultivates a variety of around 3500 species and varieties of different plants from some of the world's mountains. This is done close to nature, holistically and above all according to the individual plant. A very special place has thus been created under unique conditions.
