About us

Arodoro is the watch and jewellery shop in Arosa and here on the web. Although newly founded, we have over three decades of industry experience.

Our boutique customers are at home in the region or guests in Arosa. With the webshop, we serve our customers throughout Switzerland and Liechtenstein. A casual, simple and personal shopping experience is important to us so that you can give a nice gift to a loved one or yourself.

We offer a young, modern range of watches and jewellery. It is characterized by the unique mix of well-known international brands and jewelry exclusively available from us, which have a direct connection to Arosa, our homeland. We design these collections ourselves and have them produced by selected partners. And whether it's a well-known brand or our own products, we stand for the proverbial Swiss quality and fair prices.

Jürg Domenig, founder of Arodoro

Jürg Domenig grew up in Maladers and has always been associated with the Schanfigg. The trained watchmaker and goldsmith learned the watch and jewellery business from scratch. He completed his apprenticeships as a goldsmith and watchmaker at Jäggi in Chur.

During his time at Chronometrie Beyer in Zurich, he continued his education and earned a higher commercial diploma. In 1999, the management of the Jäggi branch took him to Arosa. There, Jürg Domenig was also involved in the boards of the Handels- und Gewerbeverein (HGV Arosa) and Arosa Tourismus.

From 2006, Domenig worked as Head of Product Management at Gübelin before being appointed to the management of Kurz Schmuck Uhren AG in 2010. There, as Head of Jewellery Department, he was responsible for the entire jewellery division. In these two professional phases, Jürg Domenig trained as a product manager at the ZfU International Business School. He was also able to make important contacts with suppliers at national / international trade fairs and directly. He had a decisive influence on the design development, production and compilation of the entire jewellery collections of Kurz AG.

In 2020, Jürg Domenig was definitely drawn back to Arosa, where he led and built up the economic development project "We for Arosa" for the municipality.

Jürg Domenig lives and is involved with his wife in Arosa.

The name Arodoro

Arodoro is an acronym or made-up word. It is formed from Arosa, Domenig and Oro, which means gold in Spanish and Italian.

The name thus associates Arosa as its home, Domenig with its know-how and Oro as a symbol of beauty and high quality - Arodoro.
