Fortress Bergün Filisur
Bunker Albula
In Graubünden, 300 fortified weapon emplacements were built on passes and in gorges during the 2nd World War. Experience one of these bunkers on a guided tour of the Albula Pass.
Description
The first fortress to be built was the Albula bunker. In just 5 months of construction, the 11 m high and around 4000 ton heavy concrete block was stamped into the permafrost. For 60 years, the well-camouflaged fortress was top secret. Now it has been renovated, reequipped, armed and accessible to visitors.
Take good shoes and warm clothes with you. In the bunker there are ladders, no stairs.
