Calanca
The chapel on the terraced lawn of Rossa was built in the XVIII century and remodelled in 2019 in the colours of the artist David Tremlett.

Description

The chapel is located in a dominant position above the village and conceptually represents the closure of the inhabited part of the valley. On July 14, 2019, at the initiative of the RossArte Foundation, an artistic intervention was carried out on the exterior facades of three religious buildings: the Chapel of San Carlo al Sabbione, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Blood and the Rosary and the Chapel of Santa Maria Maddalena al Calvario. A work by the Anglo-Swiss artist David Tremlett, characterized by the superimposition of shapes and colors on the built architecture. Two-dimensional drawings that, once applied to the walls, become real sculptures. The Chapel of Grace has been completely redesigned with geometric patterns in warm colours that stand out on an amaranth green background.
