Description
The church of the Madonna del Ponte chiuso, or Sant'Anna, was first mentioned in historical documents in 1524. The building was later rebuilt in the 17th century. Legend has it that an emigrant from Roveredo in Rome, Zanetto, was commissioned by an unknown gentleman to build a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto on the "Pons clausus" in Roveredo. This happened after Zanetto stated that he did not know the place. After learning in a dream that this was the will of God, Zanetto built the chapel in the 16th century. On August 24, 1524, the church was consecrated by the auxiliary bishop of Chur.
