Dorfrundgang Guarda: 7. Susten und Hotels

In the 18th century, when mule traffic still passed through Guarda, this house, along with some other houses in Guarda, was a Sust, i.e. a hostel for muleteers and animals passing through. Some farmers were able to earn additional income with an inn. They also participated as muleteers with their oxen and horses in the transport of goods through the Engadine.
