Description
The Lej Alv lies above the Marguns mountain station and collects and stores the water that flows down from the Val Schlattain and the mountain when the snow melts. The lake, which is used as a water reservoir for snowmaking on the mountain in winter, is a wonderful excursion destination for mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners in particular in summer. The lake can be reached on foot or by bike either via the mountain station of the Marguns gondola lift or via the mountain station of the Corviglia funicular.
For trail runners, the Finnenbahn at an altitude of 2,500 m on Lej Alv near Corviglia offers ideal training conditions. The one-kilometre circuit is perfect for effective altitude training and complements the numerous running routes in the valley. The altitude provides targeted stimuli for endurance performance, while the impressive mountain panorama offers additional motivation. After an intensive run, the clear, refreshing water of the Lej Alv provides a welcome cool-down and revitalizes tired legs.
