Ruin Engadin St. Moritz
Guardaval ruins
On the rocky outcrop above the village with a view of the entire Upper Engadine.
Description
The castle's construction date can be deduced from written records: Bishop Volkard von Neuburg had the castle built between 1237 and 1251.
On the ascent to the ruins on the hillside, one can still see striking artificial terracing, which may indicate the location of a supply farm belonging to the castle.
