mMoMAm (mini Museum of Modern Art Misox)

Mini in every aspect. From the spaces, which make it (almost certainly) one of the smallest museums in Switzerland, to the budgets, which "stimulate the ingenuity of its curators".

The mMoMAm, located inside the old bakery of the town, is managed by the association of the same name, with cultural purposes, non-profit. The members are part of the family promoting the initiative, which makes the spaces available free of charge.

Not only the mMoMAm is mini. The claims are also mini: to bring people (especially the new generations) closer to some "great" and "small emerging names" who have written and will write the history of modern art.

All through a mini{mal} concept, with exhibitions of a few works (those you can afford) and introductions to the artists.

In a few minutes (hopefully), these will allow the visitor to get their own idea.

Access to the mMoMAm is free. The works on display are of various kinds. From original lithographs, to posters of past exhibitions of the artist, up to more modern reinterpretations of other artists, who, in their own way, wanted to be inspired.

The vision of the mMoMAm, partly superficial compared to the artist's work, is determined by the context (and the frenzy of our times).

In essence, the mMoMAm exhibitions are intended to be an invitation for the visitor to learn more, later and privately, what is the life and art of the artists presented, including books and museums of much greater credit.

The mMoMAm, in addition to opening its doors to the entire population, aims, as its objective of social sustainability, a targeted interaction with the schools of the region.

Classes are invited to attend the exhibitions, and to deepen the topics with their teachers.

Finally, the invitation is to want to re-propose, or reinterpret, the works of the artists according to one's own taste, and exhibit them in turn at the mMoMAm to complete a cycle.

To promote culture within the Municipality more generally, the spaces of the mMoMAm are also made available for private exhibition initiatives in line with the philosophy of the (mini) structure. Painters, sculptors, photographers... So come forward!
