Die Beverin Interviews im Talmuseum Tgea da Schons

The Schams Valley Museum is located in a typical farmhouse with a barn doorway. The former way of life of the locals can be experienced here through everyday objects from times long past.

Description

How did people live in Schams when there was no mains electricity? How was hay brought down to the valley in the past? How were buildings built when hand tools were still hand tools? How did people cook? What did a bride bring as a dowry to her marriage? The exhibition in the Schams Valley Museum has answers to all these questions.

Beverin interviews by Casper Nicca in the Tgeada Schons
In July and August 2023, the multimedia oral history project with film interviews and photo portraits of the inhabitants of the communities around Piz Beverin can be seen in the Tgea da Schons valley museum.

Digls Romans a digls Gualsers - Romans and Walsers live in the 9 communities around Piz Beverin. They tell us their story. These are the stories of the people who have stayed here, who have cultivated Walser German or Sutsilvan, who have ensured that the small villages of the Beverin Nature Park have been filled with life. We want to listen to them. Via a varda!

"Everyone lives their life and each of these lives is interesting and worth telling. And it is the minds, the faces, the people who not only write their own story, but also the story of a valley, a village."

The interviews were recorded in the respective native language. They are subtitled so that everyone can understand each other. Listen to the sound and melody of the Romansh language or be inspired by the Walser dialect.
