Segantini 04: Costume grigionese – Bündnerin am Brunnen, 1887
Baba as a shepherdess in Graubünden Sunday costume – an archetypal representation of drinking. At the time of Segantini, the water for the household was fetched at the well, washed and the animals were soaked. Today, the fountains like this one in front of the church of Son Mitgel serve only as an ornament.

From the Plazza Segantini Segantini, Segantini painted the picture of the hard peasant work in the alpine landscape. He adapted the real terrain to his artistic needs. The staging on site shows Segantini painting the picture, while his wife Bice reads to him as so often.
