7. JazzChurFestival

From 02 to 06 September 2026, the oldest city on the Rhine will celebrate the 7th JazzChur Festival. On five evenings, jazz and improvised music from Europe pulsate in the Postremise Chur: live, very close and free of artificial intelligence.
You don't have to understand jazz to feel it. It's about the moment when glances meet, unfamiliar sounds emerge and the music suddenly ends up somewhere else than expected. It's about the tingling in the stomach when a solo climbs higher and the whole room holds its breath. Jazz and improvised music live in the moment. They are reluctant to be streamed, rarely postponed until later, and under no circumstances can they be shaped by an algorithm.

Anna Bläsi, Luca Sisera and Rolf Caflisch have once again curated music by artists who love their craft and will surprise the audience: established voices meet young talent, international artists meet Swiss greats. And at the participatory concert on Sunday, the stage belongs to the little ones. Here is the line-up in chronological order:

Even before the first note sounds, the picture is already speaking. Daniel Rohner has accompanied JazzChur from the very beginning and has not simply created a graphic appearance, but a visual language that is as unmistakable as jazz itself. So again this year. The current poster lets areas of color shine, not a centimeter of emptiness, an energy that can almost be heard.

The JazzChurFestival consciously makes sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe at the festival. And JazzChur deliberately operates sustainably. Whenever possible, the bands and also the audience travel by public transport, because culture can make a difference. With this in mind: Let's go to the 7th JazzChurFestival!
