In her solo program, Mareille Merck (*1996) explores the endless possibilities of the guitar. She uses the freedom of solo playing to break down stylistic boundaries. For example, she combines fingerstyle techniques with typical jazz elements. She captivates with her innovative, distinctive approach to the instrument, exploring versatile tonal facets with great attention to detail and breathing life into the catchy melodies of her compositions with harmonics, open and partially unusually tuned strings, or her idiosyncratic use of the tremolo arm. Technical skills never become a foregone conclusion; the core of the musical message is always in focus, shaped by Mareille with her unmistakable sound and woven with a richness of tone and precision. Merck's solo album "Kaleidoscope," which she co-produced with Nik Bärtsch, was released on September 5, 2025. Numerous press reactions followed, including the award "Record of the Month" in the magazine Gitarre & Bass, "Audiophile Album of the Month" in the magazine Audio Stereoplay, and 5/5 stars in the magazine Jazzthetik.
