Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten

A donkey that can no longer carry sacks of flour meets an old dog. An old cat allies itself with a rooster that is supposed to end up in the soup pot. The four ageing, useless animals are not doing well. That's why they flee from the evil people to become town musicians in Bremen. The Swiss composer Franz Tischhauer has created a lively musical story from the fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm, which tells of friendship and how they can free themselves from an awkward situation together. With bassoon (donkey), clarinet (dog), oboe (cat), flute (rooster) and a piano for the robbers, who drove the four out of their house with courage and cunning, members of the Basel Chamber Orchestra become the Bremen Town Musicians. Director Mathias Weibel will bring the children into the middle of the action at this family concert. Is it also allowed to "meow"? In any case, after surviving the adventure, there will be a free ice cream for every child.
