Dance: Gabrielle Neuhaus - Work in Progress performance

END-OF-RESIDENCY PERFORMANCE (PUBLIC OPEN REHEARSAL)

In this residency, Gabrielle will explore the paradox of resisting and surrendering at the same time. She wants to understand if we can push back against systemic violence, while also working through our own inner aggression with empathy and care. By trying to hold these two contradictory states at once, she will play with the inherent absurdity of the situation. Using dance, objects, and sound, Gabrielle wishes to translate these internal struggles into a multidisciplinary performance

Gabrielle Neuhaus - Born in Switzerland. Multidisciplinary creator, performer and designer.
Among her works are a line of wearable art, site-specific performances, durational works and stage performances, some as a solo artist and some in collaboration with artists from other disciplines. Her solo shows for the stage were performed in festivals around the world. The ongoing Street Poetry performance project has been exhibited in museums, galleries and as street performance. Stand by (2022), a plurilingual docu-performance and video installation in the public space deals with the experience of foreign women living in Israel/Palestine with their local partners. Is this Love? (2025) depicts how two Swiss artists see their place of residence: one in the mostly Jewish city of Tel Aviv and one in the Arab village of Reine.
