Event Valposchiavo
Dance: Marion Baeriswyl and David Pita Castro (D.C.P)
Description
END-OF-RESIDENCY PERFORMANCE (PUBLIC OPEN REHEARSAL)
Accompanied in residence by musician D.C.P. (David Castro Pita), during their residency in Poschiavo, in preparation for their upcoming creation “Champ” – a choreography for six dancers inspired by microbial life and the relationships between dancing bodies – the two artists will conduct research into the body and sound. Following the research residency at the intersection of art and science they will undertake in winter 2026 at La Grange UNIL in Lausanne, where, in collaboration with scientists, they will be able to observe bacteria under a microscope, during their residency in Poschiavo they will immerse themselves in physical work to begin shaping this future project.
The dancer and choreographer Marion Baeriswyl trained at the Atelier Danse Manon Hotte/Cie Virevolte in Geneva, before creating her own pieces and founding the duo Elodie Aubonney. At the same time, she completed a bachelor’s degree in art history and film aesthetics at the Universities of Geneva and Lausanne.
She collaborates with various Geneva-based companies, including Cie de l’Estuaire/Nathalie Tacchella, and regularly teaches contemporary dance. As co-founder of Projet H107, a space for the creation of performing arts in Geneva, she is interested in the contexts of creation, performance and transmission. Since 2021, she has been a guest artist at the Théâtre du Galpon (Geneva).
Composer and performer, and manager of the record labels Paco and Gigi Records, D.C.P. (David Castro Pita) collaborates on numerous musical, theatrical and performance projects. His musical work is influenced by psychoacoustic music, early electronic music and industrial music. He develops compositions ranging from ultra-minimalist and repetitive experimental music to techno, bass music, industrial music and noise.
A social gathering will follow.
