Event Flims Laax Falera
Hofkonzert - Flimsfestival 2026
Description
Finally we are making music on a farm again. In front of Mathias Schmid's organic farm on Scheia, we sit at a long table and listen to classical music sounding up there. Two worlds seem to collide, but perhaps manual work, care and love of the profession complement each other right here. Living in the seasonal rhythm inspired us to play Haydn's "Seasons", this time in an arrangement by his contemporary Sigismund Ritter von Neukomm, composer, pianist, diplomat and possibly spy! Haydn's music is based on the four-part poem "The Seasons" by James Thomson. Haydn was very sceptical about the invitation to integrate tone-painterly elements – this had been very popular before his time, but has since gone somewhat out of fashion. Nevertheless, he got involved in it, and so today we enjoy his lively music, which expresses many moments and activities of rural life at that time.
