flimsfestival: Zimtschnecken

The flimsfestival Christmas concerts traditionally begin with the matinée for the 4th Advent in the church of Fidaz. Even though cinnamon buns are more of a year-round classic than a specific Christmas tradition in Scandinavia, they take on a special role in the cold season and are an integral part of the cosiness of "hygge": candlelight, Christmas decorations, culinary delights, get-togethers... and the music to go with it! This year's Christmas programme is inspired by the "Danish String Quartet", whose characteristic, self-arranged versions of traditional Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, British and Irish folk songs transport a mixture of melancholy and light. They are tangible worlds of sound that are reminiscent of wide landscapes or misty coasts, which are presented by the "ensemble le phénix" in an adventurous and playful way as well as Christmassy and intimate. You can not only smell the scent of Christmas, but also hear it.
