Eine Büdner Jäger-Oper in deutscher und romanischer Sprache. Loosely based on Carl Maria von Weber's DER FREISCHÜTZ.

Opera Engiadina will produce a "Graubünden hunter opera" in October 2026. The Bünder Jägerverband takes over the patronage. Carl Maria von Weber's famous opera "Der Freischütz" serves as a model. However, the plot is tailored to the "King of the Bernina", the legendary Engadine hunter Gian Marchet Colani from Pontresina (1772 – 1835), who was said to have shot with bewitched bullets, which corresponds exactly to the motif of the free bullets in "Der Freischütz". At the centre of the opera are the notorious Wolfsschlucht scene, which will take place here in the Ova da Bernina gorge near Pontresina, as well as the famous hunters' choir, sung for the first time in Rhaeto-Romanic by Engadine and other Graubünden hunters.
