H is for Hawk

When Helen's beloved father dies, she is consumed by grief and dark thoughts. She is constantly lost in memories of the time she spent with him exploring nature and watching birds. She decides to take in a goshawk, knowing that these birds of prey, admired for their strength and elegance, are extremely difficult to tame. From then on, Helen focuses entirely on her goal of gaining the goshawk's trust, teaching it to hunt and fly freely – until she realizes how much she is neglecting her own feelings and her own life...
