Le Chant des Forêts

Patience is the most important quality Michel Munier needs on his forays deep into the ancient, moss-covered forests of the Vosges. Equipped with a rucksack, walking stick and warm jacket, he is drawn time and again into the silence of the forest, to a very special place: a fir tree that has become his hideaway. Beneath its branches, the old man seems to merge with nature. He has spent over eight hundred nights there, listening, observing – always on the lookout for foxes, roe deer, red deer, lynxes and the mysterious king of the forest: the capercaillie. His son Vincent has shared his father's fascination since he was twelve years old. He learned from him how to read animal tracks and knows the places where they feed, hunt, build their nests and sleep. Together with Vincent's son Simon, the family trio embarks on a journey into the breathtaking beauty of nature.
