The Konzertverein Chur presents an exclusive concert series in 2026/27:

Beethoven 32 — The Cycle
32 sonatas, 8 evenings, one pianist
All 32 piano sonatas will be performed in eight concerts – a musical universe full of drama, poetry, wit and revolutionary ideas. Anyone who experiences these works does not encounter Beethoven as a monument, but as a composer whose music still electrifies today.

2. LIGHT & SHADOW
When sounds paint landscapes.
Contrasts in their purest form. Here, witty humour meets deep breathing in nature – and finally leads to pure energy. After the radiant, nature-loving expanse of the "Pastorale", Beethoven conjures up a virtuoso firework of sound on the keys in the finale with the "Waldstein", which breaks the boundaries of the grand piano.

Martin Nöbauer, piano
Martin Nöbauer, Austrian pianist, already performed in Chur in the 2026 season in a highly acclaimed and sold-out house. He has completely thrilled the audience and returns to the Alpine city with the Beethoven cycle brilliantly. Martin shines on modern and historical instruments. He was a finalist at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw 2023, which resulted in a Chopin Institute CD with recordings from the competition. He has won several major prizes, including Classic on Danube (Vienna) and the Hildegard Maschmann Foundation Competition (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna). Other successes include Musica Antiqua Bruges, Mozarteum Summer Festival, Musica Juventutis and Fortepiano Plus Schloss Kremsegg.
Together with Elisabeth Leonskaja he performed at the Stars and Rising Stars festival in Munich; concerts have also taken him to Linz, Graz, St. Florian, Mondsee and Dubai Opera. Recital at Chopin's House Żelazowa Wola, upcoming CD "Chanter avec les doigts" (Chopin) at Gramola, debuts at the Unione Musicale in Turin and "Chopin and his Europe" in Warsaw, among others. Education: Linz (Anton Bruckner Private University), currently piano with Pavel Gililov (Mozarteum Salzburg); further impulses at the fortepiano, Imola, Aspen and also through the Music Academy in Liechtenstein in their Imperial program.
