Lichterwald

When the days get shorter and the first snowflakes fall, the most atmospheric time of the year begins. To kick off the Advent season, the Domat/Ems Parents' Association invites you to a very special experience for young and old in the Lichterwald at Tuma Casté on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A walk through light and magic At dusk, the path from the church of Sogn Pieder up to Tuma Casté turns into a magically illuminated path. Lights, lanterns and soft glows between the trees create a fairytale atmosphere that captivates children and adults alike. The walk through the wintry forest offers the perfect opportunity to escape the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle for a short time and to fully immerse yourself in the contemplative mood. (Note: The path is not suitable for prams.)

At the top of the Tuma Casté, a very special highlight awaits: the illuminated Christmas tree with the Christkindli letterbox. Here the children can drop in their lovingly designed letters, drawings or wish lists. After the event, the mailbox will remain in the DROPA drugstore pharmacy Domat until December 24 - so all children can send their wishes to the Christ Child in time.

Another highlight is the storytelling in the Sogn Antoni chapel. At 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., Nesina Ackermann and Elian Cavegn will tell a Christmas story that warms hearts and makes eyes light up - without registration, open to all children.

Of course, Samiklaus is not to be missed. Between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., he welcomes the families who have registered in advance at the start of the Lichterweg. (Registration until November 23 via website www.ev-ems.ch, number of participants is limited). Those who have been good throughout the year can look forward to a small surprise.

The Lichterwald is free of charge and accessible to everyone. Depending on the weather or snow conditions, the offer can be easily adapted. The event promises an unforgettable experience full of magic, light and anticipation of Christmas - a moment that amazes young and old and warms the heart.
