The debut film of a scientist turned filmmaker documents the last two years of his former doctoral supervisor's career. Professor Luca Rossi's research on wolves will soon be shaped more by emotion than by fact, as he moves through the controversial debate between wolf supporters and opponents:

Giorgio, a wandering shepherd who herds over 1000 animals threatened by wolves, needs Luca's support to curb the attacks of the wolves;

Daniel is a Spanish PhD student who, with Luca as his mentor, is researching the mystery of wolves eating their conspecifics. Daniel and Luca use remote cameras to explore the alpine wilderness from their office;

Mauro leads the anti-poison dog unit and works with Luca to uncover the truth behind the killed wolves;

Ranger Jerry uses the "spy wolf" Ventura to track down the elusive creatures.

Meanwhile, Francesca works with Luca on the difficult task of capturing and sterilizing wolf hybrids.

In the midst of the drama, Luca's friend Aurelio leads the hunters through the wilderness and always keeps a watchful eye on the wolves.



This film brings you closer than ever to the wolves, and the hearts of those who fear and love them.
