Maria do Ingà

In the backlands of Paraíba, two sisters, Maria and Tuca, grow up under the shadow of Colonel Zé Carneiro's power. Between forced labor and the struggle for survival, a forbidden love blossoms between Maria and Raí, the Colonel's son. Inspired by the song "Maringá," the film spans time and memory to celebrate in surrealistic pictures the strength of sisterhood and of love.
