Mats Staub: «In Deinen Augen»

What unites us
In the 2026/27 season, the Literaturhaus Graubünden is realising the participatory art project "In Your Eyes" with the Swiss artist Mats Staub. An extra-ordinary experience and a journey through time for two people who have known each other for a long time.


Participate
People of all ages who have known each other for at least nine years – friends, family members, couples or relatives by choice – can take part.

The two of you sit opposite each other and look into each other's eyes. They don't speak. During this silent encounter, you think about your shared history, about the present and about what lies ahead. The match will be recorded on video.

The recordings will take place at the Festival Lettere dalla Svizzera alla Valposchiavo. An appointment lasts 30 minutes, the film recording 3–7 minutes. All participants will receive their video as a free download. The films can become part of Mats Staub's art installation "Silent Time": a panorama of human connections that will be exhibited at various locations from 2027.
