Munz & Töne

Under the name "Munz und Töne", two women and five men play covers in the New Orleans second-line style of the 20s and 30s, as well as blues and pop and original compositions. The nickname "Munz" of band leader Markus Bürkli led to the band's current name.What began in 1998 as the Millenium Dozen Brass Band with 12 people ended after three years because no more rehearsal dates could be found. After a break of almost 20 years, trumpeter Andi Götz drummed the people together again to form the Minimal Training Band. After a reduction to 7 musicians, the band has been playing as Munz & Töne since 2020.
