Event Val Surses Savognin Bivio
Münzen und Wurfblei giessen
Description
CHF 40.- without guest card (including materials)
NOTE: Due to the fire risk (level 3), the event has been relocated. It will now take place in front of the Museum Regiunal. The embers will be created in a very small area and not at a usual grilling spot.
About 2000 years ago, the Romans made their way through our Val Surses. But how did they get over the passes? What did they carry in their luggage? And why did the quality of the metals they brought along determine victory and defeat?
Together, we will go on a quest for clues: Where in Surses have people found, processed, and used metals long ago? What does it take to turn colorful stones and ore into a finished sword in the end – fire, skill, and quite a bit of knowledge.
We will become craftsmen ourselves, casting, stamping, and grinding small workpieces as in Roman times – a throwing lead, a piece of jewelry, or a coin, which you are, of course, allowed to take home.
The workshop is suitable for historically interested metalworkers aged 8 and above (up to 14 years old when accompanied by an adult).
